Jon Richardson Gets His Own Show

Mortgages, marriage and parenthood – all big words from the ‘Adult World’ that strike fear into the heart of 30-somethings everywhere. Now, award-winning comedian Jon Richardson will get to grips with the real big issues in his brand new show for Channel 4 ‘Jon Richardson Grows Up.’

In the new three-part series Jon Richardson, will embark on a journey that will not only enlighten him, but the whole of the UK, as to what it takes to be a ‘Happy Adult’.

This is not just a do-gooders guide to ‘growing as a person’ – Jon and his best mate, fellow comedian and optimist Matt ‘Fordie’ Forde, are going on a good old fashioned road-trip around Britain. The pair will travel in a campervan meeting people from all walks of life who have unique views on what it means to be ”grown-up”.

Having spent most of his twenties fretting the small stuff Jon wants to tackle life’s big topics and take stock of it all.

He said: “Having wasted my 20’s dusting skirting boards and devising intricate filing systems for my possessions, I’m determined not to waste the next decade of my life.

“‘The 30’s also feel like a more momentous decade than my 20s – my thoughts involuntarily turning towards more permanent things, relationships that will last and where I want to settle down. But I’m still at an age where I should be enjoying my freedom and taking risks and making mistakes.

“I’m keen to find out about the big things in life – money, children and relationships as I have lots and lots of big scary questions about them. Matt, along with some of the contributors we’ll meet on the way, will challenge my thinking and will create an honest, heartfelt and funny tv guide to growing up.”

Commissioning Editor for C4, Madeleine Knight said “Jon is a hilarious man and a unique comedic talent. It’s exciting to take him from behind the 8 Out Of 10 Cats desk and send him across the country to find answers to life’s biggest questions. I very much look forward to seeing him grow up – but not too much.”

Arsène Wenger hails FA Cup victory as Arsenal's most important trophy

Arsène Wenger described Arsenal's 3-2 victory over Hull City in the FA Cup final as a "big moment of happiness", and even went as far as to suggest that the club's first major piece of silverware in nine years was the most important in his time at the club.

Arsenal had to show all their fighting qualities on a sapping day at Wembley, after finding themselves 2-0 down inside eight first-half minutes, thanks to goals from James Chester and Curtis Davies. Wenger admitted feeling "shock" at the blistering start made by Steve Bruce's side and fearful that his "nervous" players would not overcome the setback.

However, Santi Cazorla's rasping free-kick after 17 minutes got them back into the contest before a much improved second-half display resulted in Laurent Koscielny equalising for Arsenal after 71 minutes, and Aaron Ramsey securing the winner in extra time.

"I feel relief and happiness because we were under severe pressure to win today and didn't start well," said Wenger. "But, in the end, it finished well, so this is a big moment of happiness for us.

"We waited a long time for this and the happiness is linked sometimes with the suffering, and the time that you have to wait."

Branded a "specialist in failure" by José Mourinho earlier in the season, Wenger now joins Sir Alex Ferguson in having won the FA Cup five times as a manager. Yet, for him, this triumph has a resonance beyond that because it meant the club finally followed up on their success in the final of 2005's FA Cup competition, when Arsenal beat Manchester United 5-4 on penalties to claim the trophy. That was the seventh major honour of Wenger's reign, a spell that, at that stage, also included two Doubles.

"This was more important than all the others," said the Frenchman. "We have twice won the double, but were not under pressure then like we were today.

"This is an important moment in the life of this team; to lose today would have been a major setback, but winning gives us a good platform to come back stronger next year."

There had been speculation before Saturday's match that Wenger would not be at the club next season, given that his contract with Arsenal has expired. Yet the manager has insisted he always planned to sign a fresh deal and all but confirmed that after victory here, which comes on the back of Arsenal's fourth-place finish in the Premier League, and qualification for the play-off stages of the Champions League.

"That [signing a new contract] normally should happen and we are in very normal circumstances now," Wenger said. "It was never a question of leaving, it was a question of doing the right thing for this squad and you have to accept, in England, that the Premier League is very tough. It is difficult [to beat the top clubs] but we will again try."

Bruce suggested afterwards that the decisions that led to Arsenal's first two goals were mistakes on the part of the referee, Lee Probert. Replays showed that the corner kick from which Koscielny equalised after 71 minutes should have been awarded as a Hull goal-kick because striker Yaya Sanogo got the final touch to Oliver Giroud's cross.

Arsenal, however, arguably deserved to get back into this contest given their increased share of possession and territory after the break, with Ramsey's first-time, low strike after 109 minutes just reward for another excellent display by the Welsh midfielder.

"He was not in the [PFA] team of the year or in the football writers' team of the year, and he deserved to be," said Wenger. "He certainly popped up at the right moment again today."

Captain America 3 Against Batman vs Superman: A Comic Book Movie Clash Of The Titans

If they keep it consistent, we will see the ultimate superhero clash on May 6, 2016. Captain America 3 and Batman vs. Superman will be the biggest box office draw that year, I guarantee it. Although we don’t know which one will shed blood first but we all know it’ll be a battle for Comic Book Film supremacy. One side will go for Marvel, the other will be right behind DC Comics.

The third installment of the Captain America series of the Avenger films I believe will be a partial take off of The Avengers: Age Of Ultron. Think about it, after clashing with the baddy of a robot, things will change drastically whether we know it or not, it’s one step closer to bringing Thanos most likely in the third film. Cap 3 won’t be the political satire the second film had and although I loved it and it was an awesome film, you just can’t strike lightning twice in the same area. Hopefully, the third film will deal with more of Hydra after the battle of Ultron and see a bit of more of Baron Von Strucker as a lead villain.

The Bat and Supes have their hands tied as they go head to head in Batman Vs. Superman. Because of the success of Man Of Steel, this will have another dramatic outlook on the Dark Knight & Superman. I have a feeling that Nolan will take Batman to another realm of that Psychological Suspense that he created in the Dark Knight Trilogy and from the looks of the new Batsuit & Batmobile it’s going to be bad ass. Snyder I believe will keep the mold of what made Man Of Steel different from other Superman films and add on a few elements that will increase not only the heart pounding action but the suspense and thrill of learning how Superman can co-exist as Clark Kent the new office boy at the Daily Planet. With the addition of Wonder Woman, it’ll be interesting how they bring her to the testosterone filled world of Bats & the last son of Krypton.

Without question this is the starting point of a growing battle for film supremacy between Marvel & DC. For years in the comics, we’d go back and forth between the two and always sided with one or the other. Now that films are running into the picture, it’s going to be a comic book blood bath. I for one remain neutral because both these Comic Book giants have great characters and awesome stories. In the end it doesn’t matter who wins, they’ll both break bank more than any film of that year, there’s no way around it. Like I said before, this is just the starting line. It’s going to be the biggest Comic Wrestling match of the year and the only way it can be topped is if Avengers 3 & The Justice League hit in the same year a couple years after, I doubt it because JL might be hitting first but I’m not saying it’s impossible. I’m excited for both films and it’ll be one hell of a battle.

Over Here for Windows Phone 8: Never lose your friends again in a crowd

Over Here screenshot Over Here screenshot Over Here screenshot

From the makers of the popular Sendtiment Cards app for Windows Phone comes the “Over Here” app for Windows Phone 8. This fun and useful little app that gives you an easy way for your friends to find you in a crowd!

How it works is very simple actually. Let’s say you want your friend to find you in a crowd e.g. a concert arena, dark nightclub, bar etc. but it is too dark for them to spot you. All you is tell you friend in advance a color from “Over Here” app.

For example, you can send a text saying “Hey Sam, look for the blue flashing phone.” Then, choose the color you mentioned to your friend and the screen will blink that color. Raise your phone over your head and be astounded at how fast your friend finds you

Simple, but very effective!!! Naturally Over Here app works best at night or in low light conditions where clothing and other indicators are harder to spot.

Over Here is best for situations like:

  • In restaurants

  • In stadiums

  • In a crowded airport

  • In bars

  • In movie theaters

  • At concerts

  • At large festivals

  • On the street

  • Pretty much anywhere..

The interface is pretty straightforward and easy to use. What is also great is that you have 6 different colors (each with 4 shade options) to choose from.

Over Here is available as a free download in the Windows Phone store here.

Michael Jackson Hologram Will Appear At Billboard Music Awards, Judge Rules

Michael Jackson leaked single

Michael Jackson may have been dead for some time now but that doesn’t mean that his minions of fans can’t still enjoy him and his music, even if that “him” is in the form of a hologram.

But a certain, Alki David, who claimed he owns the rights to the technology associated with the projection of the hologram very nearly put a stop to the whole idea.

David filed a lawsuit on Thursday against pretty much everyone, from the Michael Jackson Estate to MJ’s production company as well as Dick Clark Productions, in order to stop them from showing the hologram at the upcoming Billboard Music Awards.

The basis of the lawsuit surrounds the life-size, 3D image of Michael Jackson which will debut a Jackson song, Slave to the Rhythm, which has not been heard by the public before.

David contends that if Billboard uses “his” projection technology it will ruin his plans for a high-profile Michael Jackson performance later this year!

A lawyer for the Jackson estate, Howard Weitzman, spoke to TMZ about the lawsuit claiming it is nothing but a stunt: “This is another Alki David stunt, no different than his claiming that Brandon Howard was Michael Jackson’s son. It is ludicrous… and the show goes on,” he said.

On that note, Judge Kent Dawson, ruled that there wasn’t enough evidence to prove that the 3D images to be projected would violate patents and that the companies failed to provide sufficient evidence that their patents were being used to create the Jackson hologram.

That means that the Michael Jackson hologram will be debuted along with the never-heard-before Slave to the Rhythm which the show producers have called a “history-making performance.” And that’s despite the fact that the legendary Michael Jackson will only be at the Billboard Music Awards in spirit, and not in person.
